October 18, 2010 - Monday

Wal-Mart was our main focus today because we needed to get medicine refilled.  We stopped and ate breakfast at Waffle House - Sam had cheesy eggs and I had pecan waffles.  There was a guy there that looked just like Fred Flintstone - but it couldn't have been because Barney wasn't there!  We then went to Wal-Mart and dropped everything off and headed to the tourist center.
We have found that it is always good to go to the center - not only to get information but sometimes there are discount tickets too.  We also always find out about something we didn't know about before.   We were able to get lots of information, fliers and a good VA map.
We ended up looking around the Frontier Culture Museum in Stauton, VA.  Pretty interesting the different kinds of buildings that are represented.  The newest one was a 1780 African Village.  It was kind of sad that there aren't any Native American dwellings represented.
I didn't know that there is a Transcontential Bluebird Trail, little bluebird houses are built to encourage more birds.  We did see a bluebird - blue with a rosy belly.
After looking around we went back to Wal-Mart to pick up meds, a nightlight and a few groceries.
We go back to the RV and fixed a few things.  Sam was able to fix part of the trim on the Driver's side rear - much better than Duct tape!  I was able to fix the day night blinds.  Really exciting because one had been broken for a couple years - before we even drove to Alaska!
Beef & Noodles made in the electric skillet was supper.  We watched "Chuck" then I went to bed and read.  (Good Book - remember!)  Sam stayed up and watched a show about Hubert Humphrey, which he enjoyed.  He then came to bed and read too.  Why is it when you plan on getting up early you can't get to sleep till late?!
